The Internet is exploding right now and things are only going to get better. There are now more than 1 Trillion unique websites indexed on Google, and this number keeps growing every day. If you’re a writer, or want to be one, this fact should have you salivating.
I mean, writing for money is one of the biggest opportunities online where someone can literally sit in their living room at home and produce an income that’s comparable with top management salaries in major corporations.
There are all kinds of businesses and individuals who are desperate to have someone create online content for them. It would be nice if everyone had writing talent, or the time to do it, but this isn’t the case – lucky for us writers.
Online writing is a service business, where YOU, the freelance writer, provides independent writing services to a client on a case-by-case basis. This works out great for you, because you can pick and choose who you work for and when you are going to be available to do the work.
Once you accept a client’s assignment, you’ll have to work within the client’s deadline – they expect you to be professional. But, for fun let’s say you want to take off for a couple of weeks to go to Hawaii for a fun-in-the-sun vacation – you can! Of course, this is after you’ve established yourself as a successful full-time freelance writer.
Anyway, if you want this writing lifestyle, it’s yours for the taking. Clients range from SEO firms, to large corporations, to individuals who own websites. You decide how much your rates are going to be, then put out your freelancing net and see who takes a bite.
You may have to start out at the lower end of the fee scale, just so you can build up an excellent reputation with clients. However, once you’ve proven yourself, you can raise your rates and be paid what you’re really worth. Imagine having a steady clientele ready and willing to pay you top dollar.
While article writing is one of the most requested jobs, there are all types of writing assignments available: blogs, press releases, ebooks, sales letters, etc. The best writers choose something to specialize in instead of being a generalist. This way, they can command higher fees for work that they enjoy doing.
In order to get started as a freelance writer, you’ll need to know all the ins and outs of the field and what to expect. There are excellent resources and online guides that can show you how to begin writing for money. I hope you are excited, because this could literally change your lifestyle within a year.
