After the first excitement of a new idea or endeavor such as making money online, the drive starts to diminish and you start to feel unhappy about your lack of the quick results you thought you might have. This is where persistence comes in. As the saying goes, “If at first you don’t succeed, try try again.” You have to keep motivating yourself to carry on with whatever efforts are necessary to learn about your new plan to make money from home. Some of the ways you can re-motivate yourself is to have a routine, reward yourself, and surround yourself with positive people.
Have a routine
We human beings are creatures of habit. I have heard it said that if you want to establish a new habit, do it for twenty-one days and it will become part of you. We all know people who have gone on diets but somewhere in the first week or so, give up a small part of that determination and that is the end of the diet. We can apply that to anything, and in this case I’m thinking of your home business. The goal is to make money at home, and you have a plan of attack, but when some distracting life circumstance comes up, or if the rewards don’t seem to be coming, you start to let it slide and perhaps give up altogether. That’s why a routine is one hundred percent necessary.
Choose certain hours in the day or a particular number of things that you are going to do per day and stick to that. Some say writing down three to five tasks helps you accomplish something concrete instead of trying to do 20 things at once. Stay disciplined and you will start to see those small gains that accident victims see in moving their fingers, or being able to reach higher, or walking one more step every day. They take their exercise routine very seriously because they have to. It’s easy to give up at home because you don’t have to clock in and there are no outside expectations placed upon you. When you are working to make money at home, you have to figure out what the distractions are and take care of them. Turn the TV off, put your phone on message only, or find a good place where you go everyday. Routines work.
Reward yourself
“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”, goes the saying. Now it seems as though I’m saying the opposite of what I said before, but because the work you are doing is mental, you need to take a walk in the park, watch one of your favorite shows after every three hours of work, even visiting the neighborhood coffee shop might help. You may get so engrossed in what you are doing and can’t stop… well that’s good, just keep going, but in general let your routine include a reward at the end and it will keep you sticking to the task.
Surround yourself with positive people
One of the discouragements which you might encounter is negative feedback from family members or friends. To offset that be sure to find people you know can encourage you. Give them a call, and tell them how are doing. Grandparents are good at that. They have experienced life and know there are ups and downs. Perhaps find a group with a completely different interest who have a good time together no matter what the common activity. A positive spirit is infectious. When I go to church, I come away encouraged that I am loved by God and by others. Perhaps you can do something similar whether it is with a couple of individuals or a larger group.
In summary, making money at home can be a lonely business requiring persistence. You can do it if you have a definite routine, reward yourself with a change of pace, and find positive people as your friends. I wish you every success!
