Once you’ve created your blog, chances are that you’ll start to think about how to make money from your blog.
Especially if they’ve got a Blogger blog, most people think about adding Google Adsense to get a few cents every time someone clicks on an advert displayed on their blog. This can work and if you are anxious to start earning money from your new blog, it’s worth doing.
But there are many other ways you can earn money from your blog as well.
Amazon have an affiliate program (scroll down to the link that says “Associates”) which allows you to recommend anything that Amazon sell and take a commission. You can place “in your face” adverts or you can just add discreet links that relate to the various words on your site. Amazon will work out which words to link and what to display. This can be a neat way of introducing adverts without too much clutter.
If you are in a market such as spyware or health where people are looking for things to help them with a problem “this instant” then you should look at the products available on Clickbank.
You can get a commission, often 50% or higher, for introducing buyers to these products and so long as you’re happy with the product, this can be a great way to earn money from your blog. I regularly get checks from Clickbank for introductions I’ve made this way. They’re reliable and easy to deal with.
There are plenty of other ways to make money from your blog. If you’re still stuck for ideas, take a look around and see what your competitors are doing. Or search for affiliate deals in your chosen area. Almost every industry offers some kind of commission deal when you introduce new buyers. Some industries will even pay you when people simply enquire, it depends on how much the final sale is worth and what their regular cost is to acquire a new customer.
